Emma Henrike Ebmeyer was born in Hamburg Germany where she started taking composition lessons at the age of eight. Later she continued under Dr. Arvid Ong at the State Music School of Hamburg from 2013 onwards. During an exchange year in Phoenix, Arizona in 2017, she participated in several composition competitions, including the Female Band Composition Competition 2017, where her work gained recognition. 

From 2020 to 2024, Emma pursued a bachelor’s degree in composition at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg, studying with Kurt Estermann, Achim Bornhöft, and Laure Hiendl. She is currently enrolled in the Master’s program at the same institution, continuing her studies with Achim Bornhöft. In autumn 2024, she received the "Leistungsstipendium" of the Mozarteum University.
 
Emma’s compositions have been played in five different countries across two continents by ensembles such as the OENM, NAMES, Neoquartet, and Cantando Admont. Her work will soon be displayed in Japan, as she worked on music for the austrian pavilion for the Expo 2025. Her electronic works have been showcased in diverse settings, including the ZKM Karlsruhe, the planetary display Klagenfurt and theater productions in Salzburg. Emma has actively participated in renowned festivals such as Mixtur, Suena, and Limina, where she attended masterclasses, lectures and workshops with prominent composers. 
In the summer of 2024, Emma was awarded the "With Dylan on the Road" travel scholarship by the Mozarteum Society, enabling her to take a five-week trip through Europe. Since 2023 she has been a scholarship recipient of the "Stiftung Benno Kittl".
